DESCRIPTION -
This course provides Texas real estate license holders with a practical understanding of consumer credit reports and their role in residential mortgage financing. Participants will learn how to interpret a residential mortgage credit report, understand the major factors that influence credit scores, recognize the differences between the three national credit reporting agencies, understand the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and identify how alternative credit may assist certain borrowers in qualifying for mortgage financing.
OBJECTIVES -
Explain the purpose and function of a consumer credit report.
Identify the roles of Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.
Recognize and interpret the major sections of a residential mortgage credit report.
